The right questions, on the right moment

VasculearnVasculearn
Vasculearn

Vasculearn helps physicians to communicate evidence-based information about venous thromboembolism through structured conversation guides. We helped researchers make the digital experience as reliable as the scientific research itself. We developed a platform with clear instructions and designed a professional interface, enabling physicians to communicate effectively with their patients.

What we learned from the user

Doctors

  • VTE treatment typically takes 3–6 months to complete. Clear insight into the communication process is essential.

  • Healthcare professionals are very well-informed about what they need to convey but are less aware of how to communicate it.

  • 40% of VTE patients do not fully understand their treatment, resulting in avoidable uncertainty.

  • Physicians' experience with VTE communication varies significantly, making flexible communication tools essential.

Accessibility by default

Working closely with the research team, we explored which communication features were essential and which were missing. Through a user journey, we identified the core functionalities needed for an optimal conversation experience. Making the platform accessible to trainee physicians, without alienating experienced specialists, was a key challenge. We worked towards a low-tech prototype to validate the concept first.

The right questions at the right moment

Our design approach focused on an interface that is as efficient as possible, allowing physicians to focus entirely on the conversation with their patient. This resulted in a clear, professional visual language, centred on the essentials and free from distraction. By using evidence-based content to structure talking points, the interface has a reliable foundation presented in a clear overview. The right questions at the right moment ensure that the focus on the patient is maintained throughout.

Layered information

Within the platform, we presented medical data in a clear, intuitive way to give physicians insight into the communication process. The patient journey is displayed via a dynamic timeline that tracks the progression of care. For physicians seeking deeper understanding, we combined the conversation guides with evidence-based background information, such as risk factors and treatment options. This combination ensures that the platform remains both accessible and informative, supporting physicians in improving their communication with practical, research-based tools.

What the client says

Working with TodayTomorrow was a wonderful experience. They designed an interactive digital toolkit to help clinicians communicate more effectively with patients after a blood clot diagnosis. The end product is both functional and beautifully executed. Most of all, they were a pleasure to work with: patient, flexible, and deeply committed to delivering a meaningful and user-friendly product. I'm grateful for their partnership and would recommend them without hesitation.
